Overview
In this role you support the delivery of diagnostic cardiology services across inpatients and outpatients. You will prepare, fit, and analyse ambulatory ECG monitoring devices and blood pressure monitors, assist with exercise tolerance tests and tilt testing, and support ILR procedures. You contribute to ILR data review, training of colleagues, and service improvement, while handling a range of admin duties. An experienced, patient‑focused team player with strong organisational and communication skills will thrive in our multidisciplinary Cardiology Department.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, fit, and analyse ambulatory ECG monitoring devices (Holter)
- Prepare, fit, and analyse ambulatory blood pressure monitoring devices
- Assist with exercise tolerance tests and head-up tilt testing
- Support Implantable Loop Recorder (ILR) implant and explant procedures and data analysis
- Review and analyse ILR data
- Contribute to training and development of colleagues
- Support service improvement initiatives
- Undertake a range of administrative duties to ensure smooth running of the department
Key requirements
- Experience in performing ECGs and fitting/removing/downloading Holter and BP monitors
- Competence in ambulatory ECG monitoring and Holter analysis with ability to identify arrhythmias
- Possession of SCST Diploma (or equivalent qualification/experience) is essential
- Good knowledge of ECG arrhythmias and ECG interpretation
- Proficiency with PCs and data entry
- Excellent patient-focused communication and team collaboration skills
- Flexible to departmental demands and possible 7 days working
- BLS or CLS certification
