Overview
In this role you will provide high-quality anaesthetic and critical care across multiple settings, including obstetric anaesthesia. You will participate in a rotating on-call schedule and contribute to a busy, modern department with opportunities to develop subspecialty interests. The post supports CESR development, teaching, and professional growth within a collaborative team. You will work with a 32-bed critical care unit and outreach for deteriorating patients, contributing to patient safety and service excellence.

Responsibilities
- Deliver anaesthesia for elective and emergency surgery (general theatres, obstetrics, remote sites)
- Participate in on-call rota (1:10) across Critical Care, Obstetric Anaesthesia, and RAAC coverage
- Manage complex cases in the 32-bed Critical Care Unit (supervised and independent)
- Support outreach services for deteriorating patients on the wards
- Provide obstetric anaesthesia including epidural services and labour analgesia
- Lead or develop a subspecialty interest (e.g., regional anaesthesia, pre-assessment, trauma, education, simulation)
Key requirements
- Full time training and experience at CT2 or higher grade
- Significant anaesthesia and critical care experience including obstetric critical care
- MBBS or equivalent; anaesthesia qualification
- Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
- Ability to teach clinical skills and appraise junior staff
