Overview
In this rotational pharmacist role, you will contribute to ward-based, patient-centered clinical care within the hospital’s pharmacy team. You will work closely with consultants and professionals to ensure safe, effective medicine use, and support aseptically prepared products such as parenteral nutrition, cytotoxic chemotherapy, and radiopharmaceuticals. The position supports your professional development through the Postgraduate Clinical Diploma and the in-house STEP Up progression programme toward band 7. You’ll join an ambitious transformation programme aimed at enhancing care delivery, with some extended hours and weekend/bank holiday rotations.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical pharmacy services at ward and department level
- Collaborate with Consultants and healthcare professionals to optimise medicine use
- Offer technical support for aseptically prepared products (PN, cytotoxic chemotherapy, radiopharmaceuticals)
- Study for and complete the Postgraduate Clinical Diploma
- Participate in extended/rotational hours including weekends and bank holidays
- Engage with and benefit from the STEP Up progression programme
Key requirements
- Honours Degree in Pharmacy / M.Pharm.
- GPhC registration or undertaking pre-registration training with registration in place before starting
- Mandatory CPD to maintain fitness to practise
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Excellent collaboration and teamwork
- Strong clinical judgment and professionalism
- Good clinical knowledge
- Highly developed critical appraisal skills
- Experience of audit
