A Consultant Radiologist is required at The Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust for a busy and expanding Department. The posts will include sessions at the two main hospital sites within an overall flexible group job planning format, with an agreed overall sessional make up. Any potential candidate who wishes to be considered for a part-time or flexible working arrangement is also welcome to apply. Contribution to an out of hours on call rota is core to this role.
Main duties of the job:
- Duties will include performing vascular and non-vascular interventional procedures carried out within the main site for our inpatient as well as outpatient population.
- Commitment to the general diagnostic workload of the department and participation on the general radiology on call rota.
- Develop and maintain advanced clinical skills relating to interventional patients.
- Work flexibly according to changes in work patterns and requirements.
- Participate in the general on-call rota (1:24 cross county on call).
- Involvement in the organisation and administration of the Radiology Department and teaching of other clinical staff.
- Participation in regular clinico-radiological meetings with other Consultants.
- Training of junior Radiology staff.
- Develop enhanced clinical skills, especially in the assessment and management of acutely ill patients.
- Excellent team-working skills with the abilities and professional attitude to work well in a multi-professional team.
- Deliver clinical and quality targets agreed both nationally and locally with clinical teams and commissioners.
- Follow patients throughout their clinical pathways.

Person Specification:
- Qualifications: MBBS, MBChB or equivalent medical qualification; FRCR or equivalent.
- Entry Criteria: Full Registration and a licence to practise with the General Medical Council (GMC); Entry on the General Medical Council (GMC) Specialist Register via one of the following: Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (CESR); Evidence of commitment to Clinical Audit and Research; Clinical training equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCT in Clinical Radiology; Experience in Interventional Radiology.
