We are seeking to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic Team Manager to join our leadership team within the Talking Therapies service. The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational management of one of the teams in the service, but will be expected to provide leadership cover across localities within the service if needed. We cover the whole district and have 3 main bases in Bradford, Shipley and Keighley although you may have staff based further afield.

The post holder will work within a friendly and well-established multi-disciplinary team and will work collaboratively with colleagues. They will assist the Service Manager and Clinical Manager and take line management, clinical and professional development responsibilities for the team. The post holder will have operational management and mental health experience. Knowledge of Talking Therapies services is useful but not essential.

The Talking Therapies Service has a strong focus on Staff Wellbeing. We have loads of CPD opportunities and as a service we are constantly developing with opportunities for staff to get involved and lead on service changes. Main duties of the job:

  • This post will have managerial and supervisory responsibility for the TT Team.
  • The post holder will assist the Service Manager and Clinical Manager and take line management, clinical and professional development responsibilities for the team.
  • The post holder will be expected to work closely with relevant organisations and develop and maintain working relationships in their locality with GPs, secondary and tertiary teams and voluntary sector organisations.
  • The post holder will, alongside the other team managers, continually develop the service and ensure the delivery of an integrated locality service. The service will be flexible, user-centred and complementary to other elements of the wider health provision.

Person Specification:

  • Qualifications: Essential qualification in Mental Health e.g. Dip SW, CBT, PWP Counselling or a core profession or significant experience of management and leadership within a mental health service. Desirable TT Qualification, Leadership training, Teaching (clinical practice) qualification/certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: Essential minimum of two years post qualification experience of working in mental health services, evidence of significant post qualification training in relevant areas, experience of line management of a clinical team including allocation and monitoring of workload, experience of receiving/providing clinical supervision. Desirable experience of working in an NHS Talking Therapy service, experience of involving service users and carers and actively incorporating their experiences.
  • Knowledge: Essential demonstrate an understanding of the relevant area of mental health practice, specialist knowledge across the range of work procedures and practices, underpinned by theoretical knowledge or relevant practical experience. Desirable awareness of a range of psychological therapy modalities/professions and implications for practice, professional development.
