Overview

In this role you lead the Trust’s Emergency Preparedness, Resilience and Response and business continuity efforts, ensuring safe patient care during major incidents and disruptions. You provide strategic direction to executives and committees, oversee the EPRR assurance program, and steer resilience across clinical and corporate services. You will manage a specialist team and collaborate with regional and national partners, shaping resilience strategy and incident response. This is a high-impact, cross-functional leadership position at a leading NHS teaching hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for EPRR, business continuity, and organisational resilience across the Trust
  • Lead the EPRR assurance programme and resilience agenda
  • Manage a specialist team and coordinate with clinical and corporate services
  • Support incident management and command arrangements during business continuity issues or major incidents
  • Represent the Trust in local, regional and national resilience partnerships
  • Provide expert advice to Executive Directors and senior clinical leaders
  • Develop and implement strategic service plans translating complex data for clinical teams

Key requirements

  • Significant management experience in a large complex healthcare or equivalent setting
  • Experience of emergency planning, business continuity or organisational resilience
  • Strong leadership, influencing and partnership-working skills
  • Ability to engage with senior internal and external stakeholders
  • Experience delivering large-scale service improvements or change initiatives
  • Experience of financial planning, budgeting, and cost-improvement programmes
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic resilience plans and relate them to governance and statutory obligations
  • Experience in multi-agency exercises and incident response within a large organisation
