Overview
As Category Manager you will build on an existing portfolio of framework agreements in healthcare services and pharmacy, delivering timely procurement and category projects aligned with the NOE CPC workplan. You will develop a category management approach to generate cash releasing savings and total cost reductions for NHS and public sector partners. You will engage NHS and other stakeholders to support cost reduction and efficiency targets, working closely with the Associate Director of Procurement. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong communication, commercial acumen and a proactive, results-oriented mindset, with travel across NHS and public sector organisations.

Responsibilities
- Lead delivery of complex procurement projects in compliance with Public Contracts Regulations and related acts
- Develop and implement category management strategies to deliver cost reductions for public sector stakeholders
- Support and lead category reviews to identify process efficiencies and savings opportunities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at operational and senior levels
- Collaborate with procurement hubs (e.g., London Procurement Partnership) and NHS bodies to meet cost reduction targets
- Provide expert category guidance to NHS and wider public sector organisations
- Maintain a hands-on, results-focused approach to deliver commercial opportunities
- Support portfolio management and development of framework agreements in healthcare services and pharmacy
Key requirements
- Category management background and expertise in healthcare services, pharmacy services or non-drug pharmacy categories (or equivalent)
- Senior level procurement experience in public or private sector (band 7 or above)
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders at operational and senior levels
- Experience engaging with suppliers in challenging/complex markets
- Strong communication skills and customer-focused ethos
