In this role you will lead the management of an imaging-focused clinical research portfolio within GSTT and KCL, ensuring governance, regulatory compliance, and timely delivery of studies. You will support PIs and research teams across departments, build strong relationships with Trust and University offices, and mentor a multi-disciplinary team. The position centers on translating advanced imaging research into clinical practice while upholding NIHR/HRA/GCP standards. It offers a chance to shape research governance across a network of imaging services and contribute to patient-centered outcomes.

Responsibilities
- Provide expertise and leadership in managing a portfolio of clinical studies with emphasis on regulatory frameworks (GCP, HTA, HRA) and policy guidance
- Support PIs with new study applications/amendments, including sponsorship submission, HRA/REC/MHRA approvals, contracting, and costings
- Ensure study setup and recruitment targets meet NIHR 150-day and related timelines
- Supervise and line-manage the research administrator team, aligning tasks with staff capabilities
- Collaborate with senior stakeholders to streamline operational activities within the department
- Guide multidisciplinary staff on research governance issues for roles including nurses, radiographers, researchers and scientists
- Act as departmental lead for research governance with R&D teams across KCL, GSTT and wider KHP, coordinating with grants, information governance and clinical trials offices
- Represent the department on committees related to research delivery (Facilities, IT, Governance)
- Network with other Research Managers and delivery teams within BMEIS, CLIMP Directorate, NIHR CRF and HRC, and external partners
- Communicate effectively to maintain relationships with School, University, GSTT, and NHS colleagues
- Manage resources efficiently, prioritise projects, and escalate issues as needed
- Use initiative to resolve issues and maintain organisational oversight during external changes
- Contribute to PPIE and inclusion initiatives to embed co-design in studies

Key requirements
- In-depth knowledge of current national research priorities and governance; experience delivering all aspects of clinical studies (governance, data management, patient care)
- Proven ability to develop study protocols and support regulatory/ethical applications
- Ability to oversee complex projects and meet regulatory submissions and milestones
- Proven track record working with multidisciplinary teams
- Excellent communication and influencing skills with diverse stakeholders
- Experience in line management or mentorship of multi-disciplinary staff
- Desirable knowledge of imaging modalities and managing imaging studies; data privacy/AI legislation knowledge; experience with electronic site file management and data capture systems
