Overview
In this role you will develop clinical skills within Scarborough Hospital’s pharmacy team and pursue a fully funded two-year Diploma in Foundation Pharmacy Practice. You’ll rotate through multiple specialties, supported by supervisors, and work toward progression from band 6 to band 7. The position offers structured training, study time, and potential to become a non-medical prescriber. It suits proactive pharmacists aiming to grow in a supportive NHS environment.

Responsibilities
- Rotate through hospital specialties (elderly care, respiratory, diabetes, cardiology, stroke, gastroenterology, acute medical admissions and surgery)
- Conduct medicines reconciliation and clinical validation
- Provide patient counselling and medicines management support
- Work with medicines management technicians and assistants under specialist supervision
- Participate in induction, training, and ongoing professional development
- Support progression to band 7 after 12 months and meeting Royal Pharmaceutical Society framework
- Engage with on-call, weekend and bank holiday rota as required
Key requirements
- GPhC registration
- A degree in pharmacy (Masters or equivalent)
- Postgraduate clinical qualification (or working towards) in pharmacy to Diploma level
- Experience or knowledge in medicines optimisation and patient safety
- Good verbal and written communication
