Job summaryThe post holder will complement and develop existing services through the provision of specialist knowledge & expertise in Anaesthetics. We are looking to recruit a substantive Consultant in anaesthesia to work in a busy acute trauma teaching unit at Salford Royal Hospital. You will join an enthusiastic and supportive team of anaesthetists and intensivists in the provision of an anaesthetic service to the Trust. We are currently in a period of growth with the construction of the Greater Manchester Major Trauma Hospital and with growth of some surgical specialties within the Northern Care Alliance are looking to recruit a substantive Consultant in anaesthesia to work in a busy acute trauma teaching unit. Salford Care Organisation is a major teaching hospital affiliated to Manchester University lying approximately 5 miles from central Manchester and is supported by excellent motorway, rail, tram and airport connections. We have recently received funding to start work on the Acute Receiving centre which will focus on improving trauma outcomes in the GM region and on continued surgical excellence. Candidates must be on the specialist register for anaesthesia or have a reasonable expectation of achieving this within six monthsCandidates must be able to demonstrate an ability to deliver obstetric anaesthesia. Completion of CCT/higher specialist training or equivalent in Anaesthesia. Participation in a management training course.
