Overview
In this role you will lead the Chaplaincy and Spiritual Care Team across the Northern Care Alliance, ensuring inclusive, high-quality spiritual and religious care for patients, families, and staff. You will provide expert guidance on spiritual matters and oversee daily operations, integrating spiritual care into holistic healthcare. You will support complex emotional and spiritual situations and participate in on-call cover, with emphasis on Anglican and Free Church needs. You will champion equality and uphold national NHS standards and UKBHC code of conduct, shaping a trusted, compassionate service.

Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse chaplaincy team across faiths
- Manage daily service operations and staff
- Provide spiritual care and rites to patients, families, and staff
- Integrate spiritual care into holistic healthcare
- Participate in on-call and major incidents response
- Oversee referrals and complex care planning
- Lead Christian services and remembrance events
- Ensure adherence to NHS guidance and UKBHC standards
Key requirements
- Degree or equivalent in chaplaincy-related subject
- Postgraduate qualification or equivalent experience in chaplaincy-related discipline
- Evidence of counselling skills and ongoing professional development
- Ordained or accredited with Anglican Church or Free Churches Group
- Minimum 5 years healthcare chaplaincy experience
- Experience in caring for sick/bereaved and working with multi-faith contexts
- Knowledge of NHS structures, policy, and service evaluation
- Disclosure and Barring Service checks suitability
- Desirable registration with UKBHC
