Overview
In this Finance Business Partner role, you will blend management accounting with commercial finance to influence decisions across operations and product, driving profitability and performance insight. You’ll own end-to-end financial processes and models while partnering with leaders to challenge assumptions and guide strategic choices. The role combines detailed analysis with big-picture thinking in a largely remote setup linked to the Runcorn Head Office. Responsibilities
- End-to-end financial ownership for your area (month-end, journals, accruals, prepayments, income recognition, balance sheet reconciliations)
- Produce monthly performance reporting with variance analysis and actionable commentary
- Lead budgeting and forecasting; challenge assumptions and identify risks/opportunities
- Maintain rolling forecasts for stakeholder insight between cycles
- Build robust financial models to support commercial/operational decisions
- Produce product/contract profitability analysis and understand drivers of margin movements
- Provide product costing and commercial analysis for pricing, business cases, and opportunities
- Collaborate with operational/product leaders; provide constructive challenge for commercial decisions
- Ensure accurate sales/billing data and manage aged debt with Accounts Receivable/Credit Control
- Translate complex financial data into clear insights for non-finance colleagues
- Build cross-functional relationships to involve Finance in key decisions
- Cover month-end and financial control as part of broader profitability and costing responsibilities
- Support end-to-end decision-making via financial modelling and scenario planning
Key requirements
- ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent qualified, or part-qualified with strong relevant experience
- Strong management accounting experience (month-end, journals, accruals, prepayments, balance sheet reconciliations)
- Experience producing budgets and rolling forecasts with variance analysis
- Advanced Excel skills and robust financial modelling abilities
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret financial information beyond reporting
- Excellent communication skills to explain complex financials to non-finance colleagues
- Confidence to challenge, influence and build credibility with stakeholders
- Proactive, organised, able to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Ability to work independently while building relationships across Finance and the wider business
