Overview
In this role you will lead a multidisciplinary CYP autism service, driving transformation and ensuring safe, person-centered assessments and interventions. You will shape service development, mentor colleagues and collaborate with families and partners to achieve optimal outcomes. You’ll oversee operational delivery, performance, and budgets within a forward-thinking NHS Trust. Your leadership will enable continuous improvement and scalable pathways for children and young people.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day operational management of the CYP Autism Service across the specified area
- Oversee delegated budget management and ensure financial targets are met
- Maintain performance against clinical, KPI, and essential standards; ensure accurate IT/system recording
- Collaborate with Service Manager and clinical leads to plan and deliver the service
- Lead policy, procedure, and practice development within the team and ensure adherence to Trust guidelines
- Support national strategy implementation and drive practice development
- Sign off budgets for clinical care delivery and manage staff absence, sickness, recruitment and appraisals
Key requirements
- Educated to degree or equivalent with postgraduate qualification or evidence of formal courses
- Leadership or management training or demonstrable experience
- Substantial experience working with children and young people with LD, MH and Autism and their families
- Experience in initiating, developing, implementing and evaluating operational processes
- Direct line management experience of health or social care staff
- Experience in improving service delivery aligned with evidence-based practice
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and manage performance
- Experience with scheduling/rostering or health roster systems (desirable)
- High-level communication and interpersonal skills
