CMHT Consultant Psychiatrists [North and South] in Rotherham

We are seeking two enthusiastic and compassionate Consultant Psychiatrists to join our CMHT's (North and South). You will provide high-quality psychiatric assessment, diagnosis, and treatment for adults with complex mental health needs, working within a supportive multidisciplinary team. Main duties of the job:

• The post-holder will be expected to support the multi-professional teams to determine need and deliver care across the range of community and care settings served by the mental health teams.
• The post holder is expected to work in both organic and functional aspects of mental health services for older adults.
• To provide medical leadership, consultation, advice, and guidance within the Community Mental Health Teams, ensuring that care and treatment are safe and effective, efficient and within national guidelines.
• To provide medical assessment, diagnosis, and formulation to appropriate patients. On completion of assessment, advise on diagnosis and treatment within the teams and to external service providers.
• To provide medical care to patients with severe mental health problems requiring enhanced care coordination.
• To liaise, advise and consult with hospital doctors and primary care clinicians on diagnosis, treatment and management of patients.
• To conduct assessments and make recommendations under the Mental Health Act.

Person Specification:

• Qualifications: Full registration with the GMC. Inclusion on the GMC Specialist Register for Adult Psychiatry or a trainee within six months of completing their CCT. Would consider a candidate with MRCPsych and AC approval.
• Experience: Previous experience within General Adult Psychiatry. Experience of psychiatric practice in a range of settings. Experience of audit and an understanding of the principles of clinical governance.
• Knowledge: Knowledge of research processes. Committed to Continuing Professional Development. Sound knowledge of NHS management structures and systems.
• Skills & Abilities: All applicants to have demonstrable skills in written and spoken English adequate to enable effective communication about medical topics with patients and colleagues.
