Overview

As Service Manager, you will provide operational leadership across Respiratory and Renal services within the Medicine Care Group, partnering with senior clinical and nursing colleagues to deliver safe, efficient care.

You will drive service improvement, patient flow, and workforce planning while managing medical staffing, finance, and quality outcomes.

Using data, you will identify challenges and implement sustainable improvements that benefit patients and staff.

This is a pivotal, cross-functional role in a growing acute care environment with a clear impact on patient experience and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure safe, smooth delivery of identified services per the Trust plan and national frameworks
  • Deliver and monitor performance targets and clinical outcome metrics
  • Interpret and report on service data to track performance and compliance
  • Collaborate with Information Department to produce specialty reports for leadership
  • Lead on service improvement, pathway redesign, and workforce productivity
  • Oversee medical staffing, budget and financial management
  • Support quality, safety, and patient experience improvements
  • Foster partnership and alignment across teams to enable service transformation
  • Key requirements
  • Proven NHS operational experience at band 7 or above
  • Experience of budget and staff management
  • Track record of producing high-quality reports, business cases and presenting data clearly
  • Relevant first degree or equivalent professional qualification
  • Strong commitment to openness, honesty and integrity
