This post is to replace the Neighbourhood Mental health team consultant who is leaving. Its based on the Living well/ Neighbourhood Model in Rochdale and is a Community post.This is an exciting time to join the Trust and there are many opportunities to contribute to the organisations' development and to look at service redesign models. Rochdale has a very strong teaching commitment and candidates will be expected to contribute to the teaching of medical and nursing staff. There are close links to ongoing research projects. The Consultants contribute to local service user & carer groups.Main duties of the jobThe Neighbourhood psychiatrist will offer expert advice to GPs for patients not currently open to secondary care mental health services. The service will advise about medication, signposting to other services and specialties', as well as clinical management and diagnostic advice.
