Overview
In this role you will deliver a high-quality clinical psychology service to children and adolescents and their families, including highly specialist assessments and therapies. You will advise and support non-psychologist colleagues, working autonomously within established guidelines. The post can be filled at Band 8a or Developmental track starting at Band 7 with coaching to Band 8a over 18–24 months. You will join West CAMHS in Cornwall, contributing to regional mental health care and service improvement.
Responsibilities
- Provide highly specialist psychological assessment and therapy to children and adolescents with complex problems
- Offer psychological input and consultation to non-psychologist colleagues and carers
- Work autonomously within professional guidelines and the team’s policies and procedures
- Support service development and collaboration across sectors of care
- Contribute to training, supervision, and professional development within the team
- Engage with families and multi-disciplinary teams to plan and evaluate care
Key requirements
- Experience as a psychologist working with children in clinical or community settings
- Experience with young children with emotional/behavioural difficulties
- Experience of teaching, training and/or professional and clinical supervision
- Evidence of undertaking training in supervision
- Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology
- Current HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist
- Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
