Overview
In this role you will provide clinical and strategic leadership for early intervention and group-based care within the School Based Needs service. You will design and deliver evidence-based group pathways for children, young people, and schools, driving outcomes and reducing inequalities. You will balance a small specialist caseload with oversight of team practice and safeguarding. Collaborating with schools and partners, you will embed best practice across teams in a high-impact, community-facing mental health service.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership for early intervention and group-based provision across the SBN service to ensure consistent, high-quality delivery of evidence-based approaches
- Oversee design, delivery, and evaluation of group programmes (e.g., anxiety, behaviour, emotional regulation, parenting)
- Manage a small specialist clinical caseload, including complex or systemic interventions
- Ensure safe, effective, evidence-based practice including safeguarding and risk management
- Provide clinical supervision and consultation to staff delivering interventions
- Collaborate with schools and partners to ensure interventions are accessible and contextually relevant
Key requirements
- Doctorate in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or equivalent
- Completion of an appropriate clinical supervision course (or to complete within 6 months of starting)
- Experience across lifespan with a range of mental health issues and cognitive profiles
- Experience across multiple psychological models (systemic, behavioural, individual therapy)
- Post-qualification clinical experience and competency relevant to this care group
- Experience in clinical practice/service development or project work
- Experience supervising assistant and trainee clinical psychologists
- Interest or skill in a relevant specialist area
- Driving licence and access to a vehicle for community-based work
- Current UK professional registration
- DBS check as part of safeguarding requirements
