Overview
In this Band 7 role, you will lead crisis intervention work for Children and Young People, coordinating assessments, risk and care planning with CYPS, families, and acute staff. You’ll help discharge planning with community follow-up and support junior colleagues through supervision and training. The post supports service growth through KPI tracking and data collection, within a friendly, multi-site NHS Crisis Intervention service. This is a 7-day service with structured career progression and targeted training opportunities.

Responsibilities
- Lead and support assessments, risk and care planning for CYP in crisis with families and acute staff
- Facilitate safe discharge planning and arrange community follow-up care
- Supervise and train junior staff, share learning, and develop team skills
- Maintain KPI targets and collect data to support service growth and development
- Engage in structured training packages, including crisis intervention modules with young people and DBT (CYPIAPT) pathways
Key requirements
- Nursing qualification
- Current UK professional registration (NMC)
- Valid UK driving licence and access to a car
- Significant post-qualifying experience, including at least 1 year as Band 6 in community
- Experience with CYP in community crisis settings
- Experience in mental health assessments, risk assessments, risk formulations, crisis and contingency planning, and use of outcome measures
