Overview

In this role you join the Public Health Knowledge and Intelligence Team to improve population health and reduce health inequalities across Derbyshire. You will apply epidemiological methods and economic evaluation to provide evidence that informs priorities and decisions. You’ll lead and support epidemiology, research and evaluation workstreams and translate findings into actionable insights for policy and service development. You will work with partners in a supportive team to strengthen public health decision-making and impact.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and contribute to epidemiological, research and evaluation workstreams
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues
  • Analyse and interpret complex data and critically appraise evidence
  • Translate findings into clear, actionable insights to influence policy, strategy and service development
  • Collaborate with partners to improve health outcomes for Derbyshire residents
  • Support health needs assessments, health equity audits, and health impact assessments

Key requirements

  • Degree or equivalent qualification with significant numerical or statistical content
  • Desirable: postgraduate qualification in public health, epidemiology, statistics or related subject
