In this role you will deliver low-intensity, psychologically informed support to adults referred through GP practices in South Sefton. You work under supervision to perform assessments, develop formulations, and provide evidence-based interventions, using CBT, solution-focused, and mindfulness approaches. You will help integrate physical and mental health care within the community and contribute to service development and supervision-driven practice.
Responsibilities
- Complete holistic biopsychosocial and psychological assessments
- Develop shared psychological formulations and review them through supervision
- Deliver planned, low-intensity interventions (individual and possibly group)
- Apply health and wellbeing coaching to support behaviour change and self-management
- Build therapeutic relationships and obtain informed consent with patients and carers
- Perform collaborative risk assessments and management planning
- Maintain accurate electronic health records and documentation
- Manage a varied caseload and coordinate appointments within lone-working safety protocols
Key requirements
- Second-class honours degree or higher in psychology
- Postgraduate Diploma APP or PG Cert (or equivalent)
- Understanding of lifespan psychology and health-related mental health needs
- Experience working with diverse populations and across settings
- Strong written and verbal communication, including sensitive information handling
- Experience in clinical settings, workload management, and service-related audits
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and data analysis
- Willingness to travel and work outside office hours as needed
