In this role you will support the Head of Financial Reporting Control and ensure a reliable financial accounting service for senior stakeholders. You will safeguard the integrity of income, capex and balance sheet transactions within the General Ledger while complying with Standing Orders, financial instructions and scheme of delegation. You’ll produce timely information for monitoring reports to the Board, ICB and NHSE and lead statutory accounts preparation within the NHS framework. You will work with cross-functional teams to drive accurate financial reporting and deadlines, contributing to governance and strategic financial management.

Key requirements
- Part Qualified Accountant (Accountancy Body) or equivalent experience
- CPD compliance evidence
- Honours degree or equivalent experience
- Significant NHS finance experience and understanding of NHS environment
- Autonomous working with knowledge of accounting standards, procedures, systems, governance, and audit requirements
- Staff management experience including development of finance staff
- Experience in preparing statutory annual accounts
- Highly developed communication skills (fin data to non-finance managers)
- Negotiation and influencing skills
