In this Consultant Gynaecologist role, you will deliver specialist care within the Obstetrics and Gynaecology department. You’ll participate in on-call and rotas, run gynaecology clinics, and perform procedures such as hysteroscopy, with involvement in governance and teaching to develop the department. The post sits in a teaching hospital serving a large population, with a strong focus on high-quality maternity and gynaecology services. You will work with a nationally recognised midwifery team to improve birth experiences and outcomes. This is a chance to shape patient care, education, and departmental development within LTHTR.
Responsibilities:
- Lead gynaecology clinics including PMB, hysteroscopy, and two week wait referrals
- Participate in gynaecology hot week rotas and operating theatre sessions
- Support governance and teaching activities to develop the department
Key requirements:
- NHS experience
- Ability to manage common gynaecological emergencies
- Teaching experience (undergraduate and postgraduate)
- Full GMC registration and licence to practice
- Must be on the Specialist Register (or within 6 months)
- ATSM in Gynaecological surgery (e.g. Benign Abdominal Surgery)
- Clinical leadership commitment to audit and quality improvement
- Teaching and education ATSM in Gynaecological surgery
- Intermediate Gynaecological Scan experience with placenta accreta spectrum caesarean hysterectomy
