Overview
In this role you will join a busy GI radiology team within the Solent Centre for Digestive Diseases, delivering acute and subspecialty imaging with an emphasis on teaching.
You will contribute to image-guided interventions and participate in GI MDT meetings, shaping patient care across a major NHS trust.
The post offers teaching across radiology trainees and medical staff, plus opportunities to engage in research.

Responsibilities
- Lead subspecialty GI imaging, image-guided interventions, and participation in GI MDTs
- Acute cross-sectional imaging for in-patients and on-call duties
- Provide training for radiology trainees within the East wing of the Wessex Radiology Training Scheme
- Support on-site and off-site SPA sessions with potential home/remote work
- Contribute to multi-disciplinary, cross-site GI radiology services including complex imaging and post-procedural management
- Engage in teaching and supervision of medical, radiology, and nursing staff
- Participate in audit and research activities within GI radiology
- Key requirements
- Full GMC Registration with licence to practice
- Entry on GMC specialist register via CCT or equivalent (within 6 months proposed)
- Subspecialty experience in gastrointestinal imaging
- Demonstrable GI radiology experience including GI ultrasound, MRI, CT, fluoroscopy
- Ability to perform difficult abdominal biopsies and drainage procedures
- Good clinical risk management understanding
- Experience in teaching medical, radiographic, and nursing staff
- Auditing and research involvement
- Good oral and written communication
- Teaching and mentoring
- Problem solving and logical thinking
- GI focused ultrasound (bowel ultrasound)
- MRI and CT imaging of GI conditions
- Fluoroscopy for GI procedures
