Overview
In this Consultant Anaesthetist role, you will contribute to a large, multidisciplinary anaesthesia service delivering across multiple sites. You will support subspecialties from colorectal and upper GI to paediatrics and obstetrics, participating in a structured job plan with clinical sessions and on‑call duties. You will work within a cohesive team known for education and innovation, building on recent accreditation and quality initiatives. Responsibilities
- Manage an anaesthesia workload across multiple sites within the Trust
- Participate in a 2-tier on-call rota (Category A) with coverage for emergency theatres
- Deliver a mix of fixed and float sessions (10.25 PAs; 7.5 Direct Clinical Care)
- Contribute to perioperative medicine activities and subspecialty services
- Support education and training of trainees, trust grades, and consultants
- Participate in on-going service planning and rota arrangements with agreement before start
- Engage with multidisciplinary teams and the Surgery School and related initiatives
Key requirements
- Full GMC registration and Licence to Practice
- Primary Medical Qualification (MBChB)
- Higher degree e.g. FRCA or equivalent
- Entry onto GMC Specialist Register for Anaesthesia via CCT or CESR (or within 6 months)
