In this Service Manager role, you will lead a high-quality speech and language service for children and young people, guiding transformation and service improvement.

You’ll build collaborative relationships across health, education, social care, and the voluntary sector to deliver integrated care.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership and management of the speech and language service within budget
  • Develop and maintain cross-sector partnerships for integrated working
  • Support service development across Plymouth and contribute to CYPFS leadership
  • Ensure high standards of care, governance, safeguarding and quality improvement
  • Promote clinical practice and outcomes for children and young people
  • Hold line management for operational managers and develop workforce capabilities
  • Lead service redesign and implementation of After Action Reviews, incidents and user involvement
  • Support 7-day service delivery and cross-site collaboration
  • Oversee service development, performance, and compliance with commissioner requirements
  • Encourage research, training, and professional development opportunities
  • Key requirements
  • Master level education with relevant clinical or management/leadership qualification or equivalent experience
  • Senior public sector management experience in children, young people and family services
  • Proven change management and project management experience
  • Experience leading CSLT/SLT services or equivalent, with budget responsibility
  • Strong budget monitoring, governance and policy implementation
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience with data interpretation, performance metrics, and workforce planning
  • Ability to travel between Livewell Southwest sites and community locations
