Overview
In this role, you will own the full end-to-end payroll for around 300 staff and support finance administration within a close-knit Finance team.
You’ll ensure accurate processing, timely payments and compliance with policy, regulatory, and pension requirements, while contributing to robust purchase ledgers and financial reporting.
You’ll work both independently and with colleagues to deliver insights and maintain up-to-date payroll knowledge.

Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end payroll for ~300 employees with accurate processing and record keeping
- Ensure timely payments and compliance with policy, statutory, and regulatory requirements
- Support purchase ledger and overall finance administration
- Monitor Accounts email inbox, process payments, perform bank reconciliations and petty cash management
- Provide timely insights and analysis; collaborate with Finance team and stakeholders
- Key requirements
- Knowledge of payroll (PAYE/NIC, workplace pensions, statutory sick and maternity payments, P60s, P11Ds, P45s) and up-to-date payroll legislation
- Proficiency with payroll and accounting software
- Understanding of accounting basics (P&L, balance sheets, cash flow); nominal codes, journals, double entry
- Excellent numeracy and IT skills; strong Excel ability
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Time management and ability to work independently with initiative
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Formal payroll qualifications (CIPP or AAT or equivalent)
- Excellent communication with stakeholders at all levels
