Overview
In this role you will drive day-to-day operational management within a Clinical Board portfolio, ensuring capacity, wait targets, and timely patient care. You will work closely with the Clinical Board management team to deliver performance and transformational outcomes across multiple hospital sites. You will handle queries, incidents, and maintain a safe, respectful culture for staff, patients and visitors. This is a frontline leadership position that shapes service delivery and improvement within a high‑performing NHS trust.
Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations for your portfolio
- Control waiting lists, breach lists and ensure capacity to meet wait targets
- Respond to queries and complaints, including distressed patients
- Investigate incidents within your area of responsibility
- Promote a safe, respectful culture for staff, patients and visitors
- Lead delivery of agreed performance targets in your area
- Deputise for Clinical Board leadership when required
- Contribute to day-to-day operational management of your areas
- Support transformation and delivery within the Trust
Key requirements
- Degree level education or equivalent or established pathway with postgraduate diploma/senior leadership training
- Experience of operational, people and financial management; service strategy; business planning; performance management
- Demonstrate leadership ability at a senior level
- Desirable: recent managerial experience in related specialty; project management experience
- Essential: Change management and practice development skills
