b Overview /b p In this Band 8a role, you lead Pembridge Specialist Palliative Care Service to deliver safe, accessible, and person-centred care across outpatient, day and wellbeing, and bereavement services. You collaborate with clinical leaders to drive service improvement, workforce planning, and governance, ensuring equitable care for patients, carers and families. You will shape pathways and partnerships with commissioners, primary care and voluntary sectors to enhance care delivery. This is a mission-driven opportunity to influence specialist palliative care at scale within a leading community provider. /p b Pay / Benefits /b ul li competitive employment package /li li opportunities for development /li li inclusive culture /li li wellbeing support /li li support for professional registration /li li emphasis on staff development /li /ul b Responsibilities /b ul li Provide operational leadership across outpatient, day and wellbeing, psychological and social support, bereavement, administrative and support services /li li Manage service activity, capacity and demand including waiting times and access /li li Lead service development, redesign and quality-improvement initiatives /li li Manage delegated budgets and support workforce planning, recruitment and performance management /li li Support clinical governance, risk management, and responses to incidents, complaints and feedback /li li Utilise performance data, audits and service evaluations for continuous improvement /li li Collaborate with clinical leaders, primary care, acute providers, local authorities, commissioners and voluntary-sector partners to enable coordinated care pathways /li li Champion compassionate, inclusive, and person-centred services for patients, carers, families and bereaved people /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Relevant professional qualification at degree level or equivalent knowledge and experience /li li Postgraduate management, leadership, health-service or specialist clinical qualification, or equivalent experience at masters level (desirable) /li li Experience of leading multidisciplinary services and managing staff through other managers or senior practitioners /li li Experience of performance, quality, risk, workforce and financial management /li li Experience of service redesign, mobilisation or organisational change /li li Current professional registration where required /li li Evidence of continuing personal and professional development /li /ul ul li Highly developed leadership and influencing abilities /li li Negotiation and change-management skills /li li Collaborative working across multidisciplinary teams /li li Knowledge of NHS policy, governance, quality, safeguarding, workforce and financial frameworks /li li Understanding of person-centred palliative and end-of-life care and the biopsychosocial model /li li Performance management, demand and capacity planning, outcome measurement, audit and quality improvement /li /ul
