In this role you will lead the Estates and Engineering function at Spire Nottingham Hospital, ensuring safe, compliant and efficient engineering services across the site. You will manage a skilled team, uphold regulatory standards, and drive operational excellence in a healthcare setting. The position offers a chance to shape facility performance and safety in a modern private hospital environment. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to support exceptional patient care and a compliant facility.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safe, efficient, and compliant engineering services across the hospital site
  • Promote best practices and consistency in engineering and estates management
  • Oversee planned and reactive maintenance to high standards
  • Manage and develop a team of site engineers and handymen
  • Ensure compliance with Fire Policy and regulatory requirements (CQC, PHE)
  • Act as Approved Person for key systems (medical gases, water safety, LV electrical, decontamination, heating & ventilation)

Key requirements

  • Background in electrical, plumbing, or building services engineering
  • Hospital or healthcare environment experience essential
  • Strong management experience
  • Proven ability to lead and develop teams
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Proactive and flexible approach with continuous improvement mindset
  • AP qualification is desired
