Overview

In this Advanced Practitioner role, you will drive quality, performance, and practice improvement within our specialist Mental Health and Adult Social Care teams. You will lead safeguarding coordination, complex casework, and mentor staff while managing a small team. The position supports the Care Act implementation and the new Adult Social Care Assurance Framework, shaping person‑centred outcomes for adults and carers. Responsibilities

  • Lead on quality assurance, safeguarding coordination, and complex casework
  • Support managers to embed strength-based, relationship-focused practice
  • Mentor and coach colleagues to drive best practice and performance
  • Line-manage a small team of Social Care Coordinators and Wellbeing Officers
  • Lead on audits and reviews to improve performance and service standards
  • Support Practice Leads with safeguarding coordination and compliance with relevant legislation
  • Develop staff awareness of performance, quality, and outcomes
  • Contribute to data analysis and improvement plans across locality
  • Deliver workshops and learning events to support social work practice
  • Deputise for leads when required

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience in adult social care with complex casework
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment, MCA and Best Interest decision making
  • Ability to provide evidence-based professional judgement for safe, person-centred practice
  • Clear understanding of Care Act and Adult Social Care Assurance Framework
  • Proven leadership and practice development skills
  • Experience in line management and staff development
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and case recording skills
  • Knowledge of data collection, performance metrics, and IT systems in social care
