Overview
In this role you will lead and shape stroke care across the Isle of Wight, contributing to high-quality, evidence-based services within a multidisciplinary team. You will drive performance improvements, engage with regional networks, and contribute to education, research and quality improvement to advance SSNAP outcomes and patient experience. The role offers visibility across the full patient pathway from hyperacute to rehabilitation, with opportunities to influence regional practice and the ISDN network.
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient and inpatient Stroke Medicine services
- Occasionally undertake inpatient General Medicine services
- Participate in a regular 1 in 11 acute on-call rota
- Contribute to supervision of junior medical staff
- Engage in teaching, examination, and accreditation duties
- Participate in undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education
Key requirements
- MBBS or equivalent
- MRCP or equivalent
- GMC specialist registration for General Internal Medicine and either Stroke Medicine or Geriatrics via CCT (within 6 months of interview) or CESR or European rights
- leadership and initiative in service improvement
