In this role you will lead a comprehensive gastroenterology service at St Mary’s Hospital, providing outpatient, inpatient, and endoscopic care.

Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality gastroenterology care in a district general hospital setting, including endoscopy
- Oversee prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of GI illnesses and ensure service functionality
- Participate in service development in line with national and NICE frameworks
- Provide professional supervision and management of junior medical staff
- Contribute to undergraduate, postgraduate, and continuing medical education and accreditation activities
- Key requirements
- Full GMC Registration with a License to Practice
- MRCP or equivalent recognised by the GMC
- Entry on the GMC specialist register via CCT, CESR, or European rights
- Knowledge and application of up-to-date evidence-based practice
- Ability to take full independent clinical responsibility for patient care
- Desirable: higher degree (Masters/Doctorate)
- Desirable: training in Thoracoscopy and pleural ultrasound
- Desirable: experience in postgraduate teaching
- Desirable: participation in audits and research
