b Overview /b p In this role you will deliver high-quality newborn hearing screening within NHSP, in hospital and community settings, following national standards. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to screen eligible babies on time, communicate clearly with families, maintain accurate records, and refer for further assessment when needed. You will operate independently within established protocols while supporting service delivery and patient-centred care. This position offers a meaningful opportunity to impact early identification and intervention for hearing impairment. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Perform newborn hearing screening tests using approved equipment and protocols /li li Communicate effectively with parents and carers, providing information and reassurance throughout the process /li li Maintain accurate and timely records on IT systems and databases /li li Refer babies for further assessment in line with NHSP guidelines /li li Ensure screening equipment is maintained, cleaned, and quality checked /li li Collaborate with midwives, maternity staff, audiology services, health visitors and other professionals /li li Prioritise workload to meet programme targets and standards /li li Adhere to infection prevention and control, information governance and safeguarding policies /li li Participate in training, competency assessments, audits, and service improvement activities /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li GCSEs (including Maths and English); NVQ Level 3 experience /li li Experience working with babies, children, families, or in a healthcare setting (desirable) /li li Ability to work independently and as part of a team /li li Competence in IT systems and electronic patient records /li li Flexibility to work across hospital and community locations /li /ul ul li Excellent communication skills /li li Attention to detail /li li Ability to work with sensitivity with families /li li IT systems proficiency /li li Electronic patient records data entry /li li Maintenance and quality checking of screening equipment /li /ul
