Overview

In this role you will lead the strategic, operational, and financial direction of the North Cotswolds PCN, supporting five GP practices across a rural area.

You will work with the Clinical Director and member practices to sustain operations, drive growth, and deliver high-quality, patient-centered care.

You’ll tackle governance, finance, and workforce development, introducing innovative ideas to improve service delivery.

This is a pivotal leadership opportunity to shape rural health outcomes and network collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic leadership and development with Clinical Director and member practices to implement PCN plans
  • Coordinate PCN projects, services, and staff (e. g., Enhanced Access, ARRS roles, service pilots)
  • Ensure operational efficiency through robust systems and processes
  • Oversee PCN budgets and funding allocations; liaise with accountants and advisers for reporting
  • Lead recruitment, onboarding, and management of the PCN workforce, including ARRS roles
  • Ensure NHS England, ICB and local authority compliance; manage reporting, audits, risk
  • Act as liaison with ICB, community and secondary care; represent PCN in external forums
  • Organise and lead PCN meetings with agendas, minutes, and follow-ups
  • Provide regular board updates and maintain PCN policies and risk registers
  • Key requirements
  • Senior-level management experience in primary care, NHS, or public sector
  • Strong financial and budget management skills
  • Excellent communication, leadership and project management abilities
  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders
  • Understanding of PCNs and NHS priorities
  • Proficiency with IT systems including MS Office and project management tools
  • Knowledge of rural healthcare challenges and GP practice/PCN operations
