Overview
In this role you will provide clinical leadership and medical input within a well-established CAMHS team, delivering targeted care for children and young people with complex mental health needs. You will work closely with a multidisciplinary group to manage risk, assess carers’ needs, and help develop services under the Getting More Help pathway. The role offers space for service development, quality improvement, and teaching within a supportive consultant group. You will contribute to high-quality, safe care and clinical governance while advancing your interests in leadership and training.

Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership to the multidisciplinary team
- Be responsible for patients you see and those under supervised medical staff
- Co-lead clinical governance as team clinical leads
- Manage emergencies referred to the service promptly, including Mental Health Act considerations
- Collaborate within the Trust key working model for clinical management
- Influence risk assessment and carers’ needs assessments to shape services
- Promote a restorative, just, and learning culture and participate in safety investigations
- Support quality improvement and teaching within the team
Key requirements
- Medical degree
- Full GMC registration
- Eligible for GMC Specialist Register (or within 6 months of CCT)
- Eligible for Section 12 Approval (Mental Health Act) / Approved Clinician or willing to apply
- Experience at SpR/SAS/Specialist grade or consultant level in the last 3 years
