Overview
In this role you join a trusted Liaison Psychiatry team focused on timely, effective care planning for adults with acute mental health needs. You will support and empower teams, provide specialist assessment, and lead on decision-making and collaboration with other services. The role emphasizes risk management, evidence-based treatment planning, and contributing to improved recovery outcomes within the NHS Trust. Responsibilities
- Accept referrals for assessment and coordinate with relevant services
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary team and involved agencies
- Maintain a clinical caseload with co-morbid physical/mental illness
- Provide specialist input, liaison, consultancy and education to colleagues
- Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans with patients and referrers
- Formulate, implement and evaluate treatment programmes
- Promote wellbeing and mental health information to patients, families, and supporting agencies
- Advise on clinical risk management and assessment
- Advise on management of patients under MHA and MCA
Key requirements
- Mental Health Nurse or Occupational Therapist with HCPC/NMC registration
- Post-registration therapy qualification or willingness to work towards this
- Masters level education or working towards Masters
- Undertaken Practice Assessor Training
- Previous experience as a senior clinician (band 6 or above)
- Experience delivering CBT or similar therapy
- Experience working in the community with mental health issues
- Sound knowledge of mental health problems and impact of physical illness on wellbeing
- Ability to develop and deliver training packages
- Knowledge of relevant legislation
- Ability to travel to different sites across the Trust
