Overview

In this Prosthetist role, you assess and address patients' prosthetic needs within a modern, patient-centered setting as part of a multidisciplinary team. You measure, cast, fit, and deliver prostheses, ensuring optimal alignment, comfort, and durability, while monitoring performance and making necessary adjustments. You will lead prosthetic prescriptions and collaborate closely with patients, families, and clinicians to achieve meaningful outcomes in a specialist, clinical environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assess prosthetic needs through clinical evaluation and gait analysis
  • Measure, cast, fit, and deliver prostheses with biomechanical alignment and durability
  • Monitor prosthetic fit and performance; address issues to prevent complications
  • Lead in prescribing prosthetic interventions and communicate with patients and colleagues
  • Provide clear instructions to technical staff for manufacture or modification of devices
  • Participate in case discussions and joint clinics with physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists

Key requirements

  • HPCP registered prosthetic clinician with some clinical experience desirable
  • Minimum 3 years clinical experience as a Prosthetist
  • BSc Hons in Prosthetic and Orthotics or equivalent, required to qualify for HPCP registration
  • Desirable: experience in lower limb and upper limb prosthetics prescribing
