Overview
In this role you will deliver advanced clinical care within urgent care and medical specialties, based in Urgent Care/MAU with in-reach into the SDEC ACP service. You will contribute to a developing ACP team and four pillars of Advanced Practice, while supporting education and service improvement. The Trust is investing in the ACP service to expand clinical capability and impact. You will work with cross-functional colleagues to enhance patient care and workforce development.
Responsibilities
- Manage a clinical caseload to an advanced professional standard using specialist knowledge
- Operate within the four pillars of Advanced Practice and maintain a professional portfolio
- Teach and support resident Doctors, nursing staff, and trainee ACPs
- Participate in service development projects and audits
- Contribute to delivering high-quality, integrated patient care
- Engage in continuous learning and professional development
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to improve care pathways
- Support the development of the ACP service and workforce
Key requirements
- Registered health care professional (RN/RGN/ RSCN)
- MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (essential)
- Evidence of continuing professional development
- Non-medical pres prescribing qualification or working towards
- Advanced clinical skills including history taking, diagnostics, and management planning
- Experience as independent practitioner
- Experience of teaching/mentoring staff and completing audits/research
- Ability to lead junior colleagues, work autonomously and under pressure
- Advanced communication and listening
- Negotiation and conflict management
- Ability to work under pressure
- ABG and invasive procedures (LP, ascitic/pleural taps/drains)
- ECG interpretation and radiology/intervention interpretation
- Advanced clinical assessment and diagnostics
