Overview
In this role you will lead the operational delivery of a defined portfolio of vaccine programmes to ensure secure supply and timely delivery within the NHS and health system. You will work across a matrix of Commercial, Finance, Digital, Analytical and Policy teams, as well as with external partners, to align delivery with strategic objectives. You will drive end-to-end programme planning, stock management and governance, while mitigating risks and optimising value for money. This is an impact-driven opportunity to strengthen vaccine supply resilience and public health outcomes at a national scale. Responsibilities
- Lead operational delivery of vaccine and immunisation programmes, overseeing procurement, supply, distribution and management to meet national objectives
- Coordinate delivery across multiple functions, develop delivery plans, monitor performance and ensure robust governance
- Support procurement and contract delivery with manufacturers and suppliers, optimise stock, reduce wastage and respond to shortages and incidents
- Prepare business cases and investment proposals, support governance, and brief senior leaders for approvals
- Build relationships across UKHSA, DHSC, NHS and external partners to drive collaboration, continuous improvement and supply chain resilience
- Lead and develop staff in a high-performing, inclusive team culture
Key requirements
- Postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline or significant equivalent experience
- Experience in complex programme or delivery environments (pharma, health, supply chain, large public service)
- Proven ability to plan, monitor and deliver projects to time, cost and quality
- Experience in project/programme management, defining scope and managing interdependencies
- Ability to mitigate risks, optimise processes and deliver timely, cost-effective outcomes
- Ability to lead projects at middle-management level and to navigate complex stakeholder environments
- Desirable: line management experience, ability to draft robust business cases, ability to mentor teams
