Trust Specialist Registrar (ST3-ST7) in Acute Medicine at London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (Northwick Park Hospital site) with on call supplement at band 1A.

The Trust is recruiting Registrars in Acute Medicine to work in our busy and dynamic acute medicine department.
Main duties of the job:
- The successful applicant will participate in an 11 person SpR rota providing 7-day cover to the acute medicine service (The Acute Medical Unit (Crick and Darwin wards), Same Day Emergency Care unit and High Dependency Unit).
- The postholder may also participate in the medical take rota, with responsibility for either acute admissions or HDU/ward cover both in and out-of-hours.
- There will also be opportunities to participate in audit, clinical governance activities and teaching amongst others.
Essential:
- GMC registration
- Full MRCP (NB: if you have been unable to complete PACES due to delays in the application process please contact us about your application)
- Solid grounding in clinical medicine
- Evidence of involvement in audit and/or presentations

We have eight Consultant Physicians who specialise in Acute Medicine to facilitate the running of the AMU. In addition, twenty specialty medicine consultants have additional clinical commitments within acute medicine. The appointees will work as a member of the Acute Medical team with F1s, SHOs, SPRs and the consultant staff to ensure high quality care of acute medical patients. The acute medicine team is also responsible for care of patients on the medical High Dependency Unit (mHDU) and within the Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) unit.
The successful applicant will participate in an 11 person SpR rota, that provides 7-day cover to AMU (Crick and Darwin wards), SDEC and HDU. This rota includes out-of-hours cover (evenings, nights and weekends). The postholder may also participate in the medical take rota, with responsibility for either acute admissions or HDU/ward cover both in and out-of-hours. This rota is covered by 3 registrars out of hours (two for admissions, and one for HDU/ward cover). Acute admissions at Northwick Park are well supported through junior doctor staffing and consultant input and reflect the varying population of Brent and Harrow.
