Overview
In this role you will contribute to obstetric and regional anaesthesia, deliver high-quality theatre care, and participate in on-call duties within a patient-focused NHS trust. You will work with a multidisciplinary team to drive patient safety and governance improvements, while teaching and mentoring trainees. The role offers opportunities to shape practice through research, quality improvement, and active collaboration with clinical colleagues. This is a chance to impact patient outcomes on a large, diverse patient population within a leading trust.
Responsibilities
- Deliver theatre sessions and participate in the on-call rota
- Provide high-quality patient care and involve patients in care decisions
- Adhere to customer service standards and maintain professional conduct
- Develop clinical practice through learning, reflective practice, and integration of research
- Teach medical undergraduates and trainees; contribute to multidisciplinary education
- Collaborate on translational research/audit portfolio in line with Governance requirements
- Contribute to service development and governance initiatives
- Engage in annual job plan reviews to ensure effective resource use and compliance with EWTR
Key requirements
- FRCA or equivalent
- CCT in Anaesthesia or equivalent (on, or within 6 months of inclusion on, Specialist Register at time of interview)
- GMC specialist registration
- Experience in high-risk surgery for emergencies and ortho-trauma
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team
