Overview
Join our large community health team as a Podiatrist to deliver high-quality podiatric care across a diverse patient population.
You will rotate through specialist clinics in Biomechanics, Wound Care and Nail Surgery, while developing advanced skills and contributing to transformation plans and population health.

Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Specialist Podiatrist, Clinical Lead and MDT to deliver safe, high-quality care
- Undertake specialist clinics as part of rotation CPD program (Biomechanics, Wound Care, Nail Surgery)
- Autonomously assess, diagnose and manage diverse podiatric conditions using appropriate assessment techniques
- Deliver specialist interventions (sharp debridement, local anaesthesia, nail surgery, caustic treatments)
- Work with wider multidisciplinary team (GPs, Practice Nurses, Community Nursing, Physiotherapists, Osteopaths, Rheumatology, Diabetes)
- Plan and deliver health promotion, education and training across service and Trust
- Promote podiatry services to professionals and community to support referrals and access
- Role involves a mix of clinic and domiciliary visits to patients’ homes and clinics
- Flexibility in working patterns (full-time/part-time/compressed hours)
- Key requirements
- BSc Degree in Podiatric Medicine or Diploma (if qualified prior 1991)
- Current HCPC registration
- Evidence of CPD and professional development
- Certificate in local anaesthesia
- Postgraduate multidisciplinary and interagency working experience
- Experience with at-risk and high-risk foot
- Experience in working within a specialist team (clinical rotation accepted)
- Knowledge of modern podiatric theory, practice and high-risk tissue management
- Ability to perform intricate diagnostic and surgical tasks (e. g., debridement, nail surgery)
- Driving licence and access to a car for home visits (desirable)
- Ability to cope with busy, varied workloads
- Empathy and ability to support patient anxieties
- Adaptability to different working environments and settings
- Knowledge of current developments in podiatry
- Foot orthotic design and manufacture
