Overview
In this role you will provide clinical pharmacy support, liaise across wards, departments and pharmacy to tailor services to the Care Group’s needs, and lead specialist pharmacy services for education and training. You will act as an academic link, delivering teaching and role modelling to undergraduate and postgraduate students at KCL. You will also co-ordinate, develop and supervise education strategies and cross-site placements, shaping clinical education within a busy NHS trust and university setting.
Responsibilities
- Deputise for the Principal Pharmacist, Education Training and Development
- Act as a specialist role model and expert in medical management within a clinical team
- Practice as an independent prescriber to optimise patient care
- Ensure high-level clinical pharmacy input and discharge liaison support
- Lead and develop pharmacy staff, trainees and junior pharmacists across KCH
- Collaborate with pharmacy, primary care and external partners on cross-sector training
- Support the Pharmacy Education and Training Strategy aligned with NHS and regional priorities
- Represent pharmacy in education and workforce development activities at Trust, regional and national levels
- Provide academic teaching and professional role modelling to undergraduate and postgraduate students at KCL
- Support and develop undergraduate MPharm curriculum and placements at KCH/KCL
- Develop clinical pharmacy education links between KCL and KCH
Key requirements
- MPharm (Masters Degree)
- Registered Pharmacist (GPhC)
- Postgraduate Diploma in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
- Registered Independent Prescriber or willingness to complete
- Specialist knowledge in area of practice
- Post-registration hospital pharmacy experience with assessed competencies
