Exciting Secondment Opportunities - Capital Projects Team

We are seeking motivated and talented individuals to join our Capital Projects Team on a 6-month secondment basis while we undertake a review of our capacity and future resource requirements. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a team responsible for delivering one of the largest multi-million-pound capital investment programmes in England, supporting major construction, refurbishment and infrastructure projects across our diverse estate.
Main duties of the job:
- The principal function of the post is to provide programme management overview of the projects' construction operations and infrastructure projects relating to the following Trust's properties:
- National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery
- Royal London Hospital for Integrated Medicine
- 33 Queen Square
- 23 Queen Square
- 8-11 Queen Square
- The post holder will be responsible for the management of a portfolio of schemes listed on the capital programme as issued by the Head of Capital Projects, from conception to post project evaluation, including the appointment and management of external consultants and contractors taking place in the above properties. These projects are focused on infrastructure replacement to the buildings.

Person Specification:
Knowledge and Qualifications
- Essential: High level of specialist knowledge in building design and construction.
- High level of specialist knowledge in Asbestos Management.
- Track record of successfully implementing significant change within a complex environment.
- In depth knowledge of acute hospital environments.
- Knowledge and understanding of the Equality Act & Building Safety Act.
- Desirable: Relevant qualification to the post (degree level, engineering or construction related).
- Recognised BIM Accreditation.
- Membership of a relevant professional association body.
Experience
- Essential: Experience of working as a Senior Project / Programme Manager at a portfolio level.
- Experience in management of larger scale / complex healthcare projects.
- Knowledge and experience of using different types of works contract including NEC Construction and Infrastructure contract, JCT Traditional, JCT Design and Build.
- Experience of working in an NHS senior estate's role.
- Evidence of significant achievement and success at higher levels in NHS Capital/Corporate development.
- Experience and knowledge of NHS procedures, systems, legislation and guidance.
- Experience of successful contract negotiation.
- Desirable: Experience in managing BIM level 2 projects.
