Overview

In this role you will oversee day-to-day information governance (IG) enquiries and ensure DSPT compliance.

You will coordinate external assessments, audits and reporting, and manage the information asset register and data flow mappings.

You will work with Information Security colleagues to monitor IG progress, deliver training, and maintain action trackers.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IG enquiries and triage complex matters
  • Coordinate DSPT submissions, audits and compliance assessments
  • Oversee information asset register accessions, data flow mapping and due diligence
  • Produce IG compliance reports, dashboards and trend analyses
  • Maintain IG action trackers and ensure timely delivery of actions
  • Lead IG training outcomes and provide specialist advice on data protection and information security
  • Organise IG governance meetings, prepare papers, take minutes and track actions
  • Support IG risk assessments including DPIAs and related meetings
  • Deputise for the IG Manager and supervise the IG apprentice
  • Maintain IG intranet content and support team systems
  • Travel to Trust sites for assurance, training and compliance activities
  • Key requirements
  • First degree or equivalent IG experience in public sector or similar
  • Knowledge of Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT)
  • Experience in information governance or similar governance/compliance area
  • Experience coordinating compliance work and evidence
  • Experience facilitating audits and follow-up
  • Ability to distil complex information and respond promptly to queries
  • Stakeholder liaison experience and ability to build effective relationships
  • Experience preparing agendas, reports and minutes and administering web-based tools
  • Attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Data Security & Protection Toolkit (DSPT)
  • Data Protection Act and Freedom of Information Act knowledge
