Overview
In this role you will lead a procurement function within NHS LPP, driving cost savings and value for money across a broad portfolio. You will collaborate with senior clinical and operational stakeholders regionally and nationally to drive digital-focused innovation. You will oversee a small team of Category Managers and shape procurement strategies that align with national initiatives and legislation. This is a mission-driven position in a centre of commercial excellence, offering the chance to deliver sustainable service improvements at scale.

Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of category managers
- Engage with NHS Trusts to build collaborative relationships
- Provide specialist commercial and contract management support for local, regional and national initiatives
- Direct a portfolio of procurement and contract management projects to deliver value for money
- Develop and monitor procurement strategies for allocated categories with market analysis
- Ensure procurement activities comply with relevant legislation
- Understand and implement national procurement initiatives (DHSC, NHS England, SCCL, Crown Commercial Service)
- Identify and manage procurement risks throughout the process
Key requirements
- CIPS membership or relevant professional experience
- Continuous professional development (CPD)
- Procurement Procedures workshops
- Account management skills training
- Recognised advanced computer training
- Desirable: Masters or equivalent plus senior specialist procurement knowledge
- Desirable: Prince 2 Practitioner for project management
- Understanding of wider public procurement and commercial world
