Overview
As Trust Resuscitation Manager, you lead the resuscitation programme across the Trust, aligning clinical governance, education, and operational delivery with national standards. You provide strategic direction, expert clinical advice, and educational oversight to improve patient safety and outcomes in deteriorating patient care. You will drive policies, audits, and QA initiatives while fostering cross-functional collaboration. This role offers impact at scale by embedding evidence-based practice and continuous learning.
Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day operation of the Resuscitation Team including line management, workforce planning, and service development
- Govern resuscitation governance, risk management, audit programmes, and reporting to senior committees
- Develop, deliver and evaluate resuscitation education programmes (ILS, simulation, competency assessment)
- Act as expert adviser on resuscitation and deteriorating patient care across all services
- Lead policy development and implementation for resuscitation and deteriorating patient care
- Drive quality improvement through audit, research, simulation, innovation, and evidence-based practice
- Oversee cardiac arrest audit programme, emergency equipment assurance and simulation to improve outcomes
- Advise on procurement, standardisation, and governance of resuscitation equipment
- Build multidisciplinary relationships across clinical, operational and executive teams
- Represent the Trust regionally and nationally and influence future resuscitation service development
- Support clinical teams and enable rapid, safe emergency responses
Key requirements
- Band 7 or equivalent nursing role with post-qualification experience
- Teaching or training experience; direct line management experience at Band 7 or equivalent
- Experience in complex health care settings; experience in development of practice, research, and audit
- Experience designing and delivering teaching packages; ability to communicate effectively across levels
- Current registration as a health care professional; UK professional registration as required
- Ability to work independently
- Excellent verbal and written communication across all levels
- Demonstrable leadership and people management skills
- Advanced resuscitation expertise
- Immediate Life Support (ILS) and adult/paediatric resuscitation education
- Simulation training and competency assessment
