Overview
In this role you lead Pharmacy Technical Services within a Trust-wide team, ensuring compliance, quality systems, and efficient delivery of Specials manufacturing.
You will oversee a multi-department operation, drive strategic planning, and support future service development with partners across North West London.
You’ll manage recruitment, training and performance of the Technical Services pharmacists and production teams, delivering high-quality pharmaceutical services.

Responsibilities
- Manage and develop all aspects of Technical Services in the Pharmacy department
- Maintain a robust Pharmaceutical Quality System ensuring GMP and GCP compliance
- Oversee manufacture of Specials products under the Specials Manufacturers Licence and supervise Production managers across Non-Sterile, Sterile, Prepacks and Aseptic
- Act as senior subject matter expert for technical services and lead team initiatives
- Collaborate with Divisional Finance to manage budget and financial planning for Pharmacy Technical Services
- Lead recruitment, training, and appraisal of Pharmacy Technical Services staff
- Be a member of the Pharmacy Senior Leadership Team to shape vision and strategy for the Trust
- Key requirements
- GPh C Registered Pharmacist
- Postgraduate Qualification in management or specialist area or relevant management experience
- Thorough knowledge and experience of running a high quality pharmacy service
- Extensive experience of developing pharmacy services to improve delivery and workflow
- Medicines Optimisation Strategy and delivery plans of a Pharmacy Department; demonstrates strategic planning skills
- Experience of running a large clinical or operational pharmacy team
- Extensive knowledge and experience of compliance with legislation surrounding pharmaceutical manufacture, GMP and GCP
- Extensive knowledge and experience of managing a Pharmaceutical Quality System
- Sound knowledge of current therapeutics and pharmaceutics
- Desirable: Extensive knowledge of engineering issues related to clean room design, build and maintenance
- Essential: Experience of managing a similar service
- Essential: Experience of running a large clinical or operational pharmacy team
