Overview
In this role you will assess and address complex emotional needs, delivering psychotherapy within MBT or DBT pathways and coordinating care with a multidisciplinary team. You contribute to service planning, supervision, and improvement projects, while liaising with social care to support holistic patient needs. You work across linked services to reduce admissions and provide clinical guidance to staff. The role is rooted in a culture of learning, innovation, and collaborative care.

Responsibilities
- Conduct skilled assessments of emotional and psychological needs with patients and other sources
- Provide individual psychotherapy in MBT or DBT modalities for a caseload
- Formulate and implement treatment plans with MDT support
- Signpost and liaise with Social Care and colleagues to meet holistic needs
- Possibly act as liaison with Acute Inpatient Wards, Crisis and Home Treatment Teams, Eating Disorder Service, CAMHS and Psychiatric Liaison Service
- Provide supervision (group and individual) and support junior staff
- Contribute to service improvement projects, including outcome data interpretation and quality improvement initiatives
- Support pathway development and guidance to reduce ward admissions
Key requirements
- Registered HCPC Clinical/Counselling Psychologist
- Band 6η΅ι¨ or equivalent (demonstrable)
- Experience with severe and complex mental health problems
- Experience in facilitating groups (psycho-education, health promotion, emotional regulation)
- Desirable: MBT Basic Course accredited training, DBT training, teaching/mentorship/supervision
- Ability to travel across Trust areas and occasional flexible hours
- Tolerant of team dynamics and collaborative mindset
- Positive, can-do attitude and openness to change
- Ability to communicate across multidisciplinary teams
